Chaunice Benton

Since the age of 6, I have known that I was destined to become a writer. Starting immediately, I grabbed my Winnie the Pooh Notebook and wrote my first Prose Poem about what it felt like to be me. Continuing to fuel my dream of becoming a writer throughout the years I have written countless poems, short stories, prose, children's books and even screenplays. I have volunteered my work to school publications (The Communicator of Bronx Community College; The Racquette of SUNY Potsdam) as well as participated in writing classes (Journalism; Creative Writing) through the College Now program in New York City at Baruch College. Majoring in English Creative Writing at SUNY Potsdam pushed me further towards my decision of becoming a writer, having learned how to write for different genres and demographics. Now, as a college graduate, I find that is it time to utilize my 15+ years of passion for writing and show the World my talents.
