Jalapeno Popper Popcorn

5 stars from 3 ratings of Jalapeno Popper Popcorn

I am a big fan of reading and trying new recipes on Hubpages. I enjoy reading them on Pinterest as well.

Because I saw on the Doctor Oz television program that jalapeno peppers, even a few slices on top of your baked potatoes, will shrink stomach fat, I was intrigued and wanted to find new recipes for jalapenos.

So I looked on Pinterest and realized that there were no jalapeno popper popcorn recipes. The big reason for this combination is that the heat from eating a jalapeno pepper can be quieted down by eating crackers or popcorn. This combination is a win-win recipe.

Wear gloves and slice the jalapeno peppers in half. Then remove most of the seeds. I leave some seeds in because I love the heat. I cut just the ends off some of the Jalapeno Peppers to stuff with cheese. This is my first time making Poppers so I wanted to see which way worked bestSlice and lay the old cheddar on top of the slice jalapeno peppers

See the different ways the peppers were filled with cheeseLay the Stuffed Jalapeno Pepper halves in a single layer on the broiler tray of my convection oven. Drizzel garlic infused olice oil over peppers and sprinkle top with parmesan cheese.bake on 305 degrees for 30 minutes. TIP: Next time I try this I would roast the jalapeno peppers for 15 minutes then stuff with cheese, The way I did it the cheese melts and runs over onto the tray.

Time to Pop the Popcorn

Cut the entire top off the bag of popcornTIP: then use the top to tie the bag shut. Never look for another twist tie ever again. A lady friend who was a cook in A&W for years taught me this trick.I used an hot air popper to cook the popcorn but lately I use another recycling TIP I leaned from another cook friend of mine. Take a flat bottom paper bag and pour in two cups of popping corn with nothing else. You can pop as little as you need. Here it is the Grand Finally. What we have been patiently waiting for Jalapeno Popper popcorn topped with cheddar cheese sauce.

Cooking Tips for Jalapeno Popper Popcorn

  1. After halving the peppers, you can remove the seeds to make the peppers less hot.
  2. Slice the peppers in half long ways. Don't cut the ends off and put cheese inside it melts right out of the pepper.
  3. Use gloves when working with these peppers.
  4. Bake the jalapeƱos at 350 degrees before stuffing them for fifteen minutes.
  5. You can mix garlic infused oil and parmesan cheese into the popcorn after it is cooked but before you place the poppers on the top.
  6. Eat and enjoy!

Thank you @pstraubie48 . You are right with all the above and more flavor from the buttery sauce as well. Yummo Thanks a lot for the Angels this weekend also. I sure used them. My dad ended up in hospital again this year for Christmas with pnemonia and it was bad. My Mom has just recovered from the flu. So God and his Angels gave me a Christmas miracle and I had another Christmas with my parents and they are on the mend to recovery. Bless You

I must say Jalapeno Poppers are new to me, therefore Jalapeno Popper Popcorn seems like a completely insane combination, but since you explained that the popcorn helps cut down on the heat of the pepper, I can understand the combination better. The fact that I love hot cheddar flavored popcorn means that this strange combo could easily become a new favorite. Thanks for helping expand my culinary universe :)

WooHoo is right Faith Reaper. We need to eat great tasty food and this recipe does it. Enjoy my friend. Thanks a lot for your comments. Really except for the old cheddar cheese this recipe isn't all that bad for calories.

Olive oil is Omega 3, garlic helps the immune system, popcorn is fibre and the Jalapeno peppers are laced with vitamin C. The old cheddar cheese is protein so ENJOY :)

Oh, my, dear suzzy, this is out of this world! I am a big fan of jalapeno peppers, popcorn and all of the above ... will have to give this one a try. If it is just me and my husband, I know I will get to eat all by myself, as he cannot take the heat like I can : ) And that sauce ... woo hoo. Yes, not diet friendly but who cares!

Thank you rebeccamealey. It is awesome. I ate every bite. Yes jalapeno peppers are good for you, they rid you of belly fat. That is why I am eating them. I went from a 44 waist to a 37 waist since January. This is quite a feat considering that I changed nothing else in my diet and I love beer.LOL
