Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers and Popcorn

I love making tasty and nutritious dishes at home; it's a much healthier (and more cost-effective!) solution than going out to eat.

I am a big fan of reading and trying new recipes on Hubpages. I enjoy reading them on Pinterest as well.

Because I saw on the Doctor Oz television program that jalapeno peppers, even a few slices on top of your baked potatoes, will shrink stomach fat, I was intrigued and wanted to find new recipes for jalapenos.

So I looked on Pinterest and realized that there were no jalapeno popper popcorn recipes. The big reason for this combination is that the heat from eating a jalapeno pepper can be quieted down by eating crackers or popcorn. This combination is a win-win recipe.

Cooking Tips for Jalapeno Popper Popcorn

  1. After halving the peppers, you can remove the seeds to make the peppers less hot.
  2. Slice the peppers in half longways. Don't cut the ends off and put cheese inside it melts right out of the pepper.
  3. Use gloves when working with these peppers.
  4. Bake the jalapeños at 350 degrees before stuffing them for fifteen minutes.
  5. You can mix garlic-infused oil and parmesan cheese into the popcorn after it is cooked but before you place the poppers on the top.
  6. Eat and enjoy!

I have so many peppers to use up from my neighbors this sounds like it would work good. My Husband and I both like hot food so this should work. Thanks, Stella

Thank you @pstraubie48 . You are right with all the above and more flavor from the buttery sauce as well. Yummo Thanks a lot for the Angels this weekend also. I sure used them. My dad ended up in hospital again this year for Christmas with pnemonia and it was bad. My Mom has just recovered from the flu. So God and his Angels gave me a Christmas miracle and I had another Christmas with my parents and they are on the mend to recovery. Bless You

I must say Jalapeno Poppers are new to me, therefore Jalapeno Popper Popcorn seems like a completely insane combination, but since you explained that the popcorn helps cut down on the heat of the pepper, I can understand the combination better. The fact that I love hot cheddar flavored popcorn means that this strange combo could easily become a new favorite. Thanks for helping expand my culinary universe :)

You are welcome always exploring. I have come to really love jalapeno peppers and they help my sinus problem also. The two ingredients together really make an awesome treat. Enjoy and thank you for your comments:)

Faith Reaper from southern USA on August 05, 2014:

Well ... that means I can go to town on it lol except for the sauce but I cannot resist not trying that too!

Susan Britton (author) from Ontario, Canada on August 05, 2014:

WooHoo is right Faith Reaper. We need to eat great tasty food and this recipe does it. Enjoy my friend. Thanks a lot for your comments. Really except for the old cheddar cheese this recipe isn't all that bad for calories.

Olive oil is Omega 3, garlic helps the immune system, popcorn is fibre and the Jalapeno peppers are laced with vitamin C. The old cheddar cheese is protein so ENJOY :)

Faith Reaper from southern USA on August 05, 2014:

Oh, my, dear suzzy, this is out of this world! I am a big fan of jalapeno peppers, popcorn and all of the above ... will have to give this one a try. If it is just me and my husband, I know I will get to eat all by myself, as he cannot take the heat like I can : ) And that sauce ... woo hoo. Yes, not diet friendly but who cares!

Thank you rebeccamealey. It is awesome. I ate every bite. Yes jalapeno peppers are good for you, they rid you of belly fat. That is why I am eating them. I went from a 44 waist to a 37 waist since January. This is quite a feat considering that I changed nothing else in my diet and I love beer.LOL

Rebecca Mealey from Northeastern Georgia, USA on August 05, 2014:

How creative can you get! This sounds divine and very different! Pinned and shared! Plus I think they have decided peppers are good for you.
