Different Pretzel Recipes

Now, mind you, I'm no stranger to coated pretzels.

I like the pretzels dipped in almond bark, white chocolate, and I guess the chocolate covered pretzels are good, too.

My preference and total favorite remains the ranch-coated variety.

Ingredients and Instructions

  • 1 bag hard pretzels
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dill weed
  • 1 package Hidden Valley Ranch dip powder

  1. Place pretzels in a bowl.
  2. Coat with olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle garlic powder across, then dill weed, followed by the Hidden Valley Ranch Dip mix.
  4. Shake to coat.
  5. No baking, just place in bag and eat.

The Story Behind These

How It Started

We stopped at a neighbors house to chat, and another neighbor got a plastic bag out, and, well the pretzels inside were a homemade, freshly coated seasoned pretzel. I took one, and another, and soon I was dipping into that bag like they were the last pretzels on earth.

I took the first one, and then another one, and then, a handful.

Then, someone moved the bag. If it wasn't apparent before that moment that I was hooked, that clinched it.

I still have some hard feelings about that bag being moved away.

My Pretzel Addiction

Hi, my name is Char and I have been without seasoned pretzels for fourteen hours...

Plain Pretzels

You wouldn't know this, but I consume Butter Braided pretzels on a regular basis. They are the one snack that doesn't make me feel unusual.

I have had seasoned pretzels before. I bought a bag of Home Style Seasoned Pretzels, which were completely amazing, but one of the spices, or two, gave me a horrible case of indigestion. Love the pretzels, but my body says no.

Simple to Put Together She Says

She exclaimed that all she had to do was coat the pretzels with a coating of olive oil and then, dump a mixture of a package of Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix and some dill weed and some garlic powder.

They were spot on. She had found some holiday shapes, so we were munching on some stars, and candy canes, trees, and sticks. Totally yummy!

River Hills Mall

While we're on the subject of Pretzels, there is a storefront in the River Hills Mall in Mankato, Minnesota, that I have to tell you about.

The store is called Wetzel's Pretzels, and they make their pretzels from scratch, and they bake them and they put butter on them, and salt and give you a choice of coatings to dip them in. My daughter and I chose a melted cheddar cheese coating.

It was a moment of sheer pretzel heaven.
