Happy holidays, everyone! I love this time of year, and even though my favorite holiday is Halloween, I still love Christmas. The one reason why it isn't my top holiday is because of all the stress that comes with it. The shopping, the traffic, the crazy family members, and people who are extra rude because of all the above. Before you go and call me a scrooge, there are many things that I do love, such as spending time with my family, looking at pretty lights, decorating the tree, and watching movies while drinking hot chocolate. Speaking of drinks—I love anything coffee this time of year. Ever since I turned 21, I have been obsessed with Irish coffees! During the holiday season, nothing helps me relax and feel merry like a good coffee. Recently, I discovered Trader Sam's version, and there is no going back! If you need a last minute cocktail recipe to please all ages, this is it. It is super easy and really delicious. This drink is typically served cold, BUT I prefer a hot version. So without any further delay, I give you a hot Mele Kaliki-Mocha!

  • 2 ounces Kahlua
  • 1 ounce coco real
  • 1 ounce orgeat
  • 4 ounces coffee, fresh
  • whipped cream, optional
  • rosemary sprig, optional

Instructions for hot version

  1. Add 2 ounces of Kahlua to the coffee.

2. Add 1 ounce of orgeat.

3. Add 1 ounce of Coco Real.

4. Mix well in glass and add whipped cream on top. I sprinkled some coco powder on top as well. Serve while hot!

There are so many fun ways that you can serve this! My favorite way is in a cute festive glass with a red paper straw. To make the cold version simply add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously! I hope you whip up a batch, or just one for yourself cause lets face it, you deserve it after all that shopping. Now excuse me while I sit in front of my tree and watch one of my favorite holiday movies.
