How to Make Grenadine Ginger Tea
I am a chef on a luxury world cruise liner. I love to cook and write recipes that are inspired by foods from all over the world.
Grenadine is a pomegranate syrup that is used in making cocktails. It is a cordial that is usually available in any liquor store. However, due to the increase in price per kilo of pomegranate over the years, some manufacturers have begun to make grenadine with alternative ingredients. The resulting syrups offer a similar flavor at a much cheaper cost. Most bars prefer these cordial alternatives to minimize their production costs.
Ginger tea is a popular Asian herbal tea made from ginger root. I like drinking ginger tea—partly because it's healthy and partly because I like the taste—but I wanted to create a sweeter variation. The result was this grenadine ginger tea recipe. When I crave a sweetened drink, I prefer drinking this beverage to sodas, which often have higher sugar content.
This recipe is very easy to make and uses only simple ingredients. Enjoy!

Hello Ethel,
Really? There's a ginger wine? Is it a local product or came from other countries? The only ginger drink I really love beyond colas and similar sodas is ginger ale. I simply love the refreshing taste of it.

Sounds great. I like ginger wine and ginger beer.

Hi Carol,
Ginger tea is indeed healthy. Though adding grenadine won't partially make it unhealthy, I find it way better than other drinks available in the markets.
Carol Fischer from Dubai on September 19, 2018:
Thanks for sharing the recipe. It looks so good and after reading the recipe, I know it would taste good as well. Ginger is a medicinal root and everyone should be drinking such drinks instead of soda.

Hello Eric,
I do enjoy drinking ginger too most of the time. As it really helps me from maintaining my health. I'll be trying to find more ways on how I can give twist to my daily dose of ginger tea. Thanks for dropping by.

Hi RTalloni,
It's good to know that. I also love ginger tea. I usually add lemon on it but I was tempted to make a good twist to it so I came up with this recipe. Thanks for droppinh by!
