Strawberry Banana Chocolate Smoothie (Like Ice Cream!)
How I Came Up With the Recipe
Chocolate, bananas, and strawberries—not a shocking combination, right? But it's a good one. Luckily enough, I'm able to enjoy this smoothie, and all smoothies, because I'm currently on a liquid fast for 21 days. I've gotten pretty experimental in the kitchen with soups and smoothies. It's a pretty simple combo.
Tonight, I was craving something sweet and smooth after dinner. I had made frozen yogurt, but it didn't really turn out the way I wanted. But this smoothie turned out exactly how I wanted it. My spouse and I wanted an after-dinner dessert, but I'm on this liquid fast, so that really limits my options for dessert. Also, I'm avoiding all added sugars except for natural honey; I'm allowed to have that.

And she's right, the strawberries most definitely add a sexiness to the smoothie combined with the chocolate and banana. It adds a sensuality to it. Food can be very sensual, especially strawberries and chocolate—they're pretty much famous for that.
Come Valentine's day, this smoothie would be the perfect treat for you and your partner. Also, blending up one batch of this with two bananas and a handful of strawberries makes enough for two people! Easy peasy. Zero effort. I love things (and food) that are little-to-no hassle. I live a pretty easy life, but I just hate when smoothies take forever to blend. This blends up so nicely and smoothly, unlike other smoothies.
Prep Time and Yield
- 2 medium bananas, frozen and cut up
- 1 cup strawberries, halves
- 1/2-3/4 cup milk, preferably whole milk for taste
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup ice
- Pulse ice until powdery and fluffy.
- Add milk, bananas, strawberries, honey, cocoa powder.
- Serve in two large glasses. Beer glasses make it look cool.
