101 Awesome Waffle Toppings
Claudia has been writing recipes online for many years. She enjoys coming up with unique and tasty dishes, especially sweet treats.
There are few breakfast foods as well known as the simple waffle. They can be found on pretty much every restaurant breakfast menu and even on a few dinner ones too.
Waffles can be sweet or savory. If cooked properly, they have a crunchy outer crust and a light and fluffy inside. The really fun thing about waffles is that their nooks and crannies which get filled with all of the delicious toppings that get added.
There are lots of popular toppings like syrup that everyone knows about, but there are a lot of other toppings that taste really good even though people might not think so.
So here is a list of 101 waffle toppings, some popular, and some not so much. Some are sweet, some are savory and some are a little of both. There are surprises on this list, but all of them are pretty good.
Plain waffles are best with these toppings, but any flavor can be used.
If using a frozen waffle, make sure to toast it well so the outside is crunchy. If it's homemade, cook it thoroughly so it holds up well to anything. Enjoy!

Give Some a Try and Let Me Know What You Think!
When I was just out of college and in my own apartment I lived off of frozen waffles because they were budget friendly. I got pretty creative with the toppings so I've tried most of these.
Some are better than others, but they are all tasty.

Hi Glimmer. I love waffles but seem to rarely eat them. Most of my toppings have been of the normal, boring variety. Some of these sound great and I will try a few. Very creative to come up with these. I would never think to put some of these toppings on a waffle. Great job.
Claudia Mitchell (author) on May 19, 2015:
DirtFarmer - It's nice to hear from you again!!!! Thanks for reading and sharing. I love Belgian waffles and they hold up well to all sorts of toppings. On another note, my garden is doing well this spring except for a few things which got way too cold.
