A lettuce wrap is a great low-carb breakfast option. Since I was craving a lettuce wrap this morning, I came up with an interesting idea. Why not create a wrap with egg, cheese dog, and mushroom? I thought the end result was delicious, and I hope you will try it, too.

  2. Add eggs and spring onions. Mix all the ingredients.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve with lettuce leaves.

Tips and Techniques

  • Let the egg mixture cool down before wrapping it with the lettuce. This will help maintain the lettuce's freshness.
  • Wrap as you eat.
  • If you prefer, you may add or substitute any meat or vegetable ingredients.
  • Serve the wrap with any condiments or dressings you want.
  • Use any kind of lettuce available. The amount of lettuce used depends on its size.

Hi Liz,

I'm not that health conscious when it comes to food but as much as I could, I always try to balance my diet. I don't take any supplements that's why I need to get whatever nutrients I can from foods.

Liz Westwood from UK on October 03, 2018:

Great idea. I especially like the idea of usinv lettuce as the wrap. It makes for a healthier wrap.

Hello Peggy,

I agree with you 100%. Ham would be a perfect substitute to hotdogs. I will surely try it next time. Cheers!

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on September 30, 2018:

I think that I would substitute pieces of ham for the hotdogs, but this is a great idea. Gives a whole new meaning to an easy breakfast wrap.

Hi Pamela,

Yes, it's absolutely easy to follow recipe, but really delicious. Even a kid can make it for sure. Have a wondeful day!

Hello Debbie,

I agree with you. It's better to eat eggs with lettuce leaves than with slices of bread. I actually enjoyed this recipe!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on September 30, 2018:

Dred Cuan, This is another very creative recipe that looks and sounds delicious. I haven't made any wraps like that lately, but this sounds so easy!

Hi Eric,

Your idea for wrap tacos is great! You can make use of iceberg lettuce on this so you won't end up falling everything apart. I also like Nem Nuong! I might try making my own version of it in the future. Have a wonderful weekend!

Travel Chef (author) from Manila on September 29, 2018:

Hi Louise,

It tasted really great! Something that you will definitely consider eating during breakfast. Thank you for dropping by!

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on September 29, 2018:

I am all on board with this. We will have breakfast wraps and Bánh mì for our Sunday brunch tomorrow. I will add your egg and go with a Nem Nuong.

I was just thinking I could make a taco in this idea also.

Louise Powles from Norfolk, England on September 29, 2018:

I like the idea of having something like this for breakfast. Sounds lovely. Thankyou. =)
