How to Make Deviled Eggs That Look Like Baby Chicks; Perfect for Your Family Dinners

How to Make Deviled Eggs Look Like Chicks
Instead of having plain deviled eggs for your dinner, make these adorable baby chicks. Everyone will think you are so clever because they are so cute!
Before I start this article, I just want to say: there are many different ways to cook hard-boiled eggs. My Mother taught me, and I've always boiled eggs this way, and it works for me.
Don't use fresh eggs right from the store. Better to use the ones that have been in your refrigerator for a few days.
Place the eggs in cold water.
Bring the water to a boil. Turn off the heat. Cover the eggs. Leave the eggs alone until they are cold.
Cook Time
Ingredients
- 1 dozen eggs
- About 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 Teaspoon Mustard
- Two pieces Diced Black Olives, for eyes
- One piece Pieces of Carrot, for nose
- Hard boil the eggs. Cut off the top of the egg. Do not cut in half. Carefully remove the cooked yolk. Mash the yolk with mayonnaise and other ingredients. Using the cake decorator, fill the bottom part of the cooked egg with this mixture. Carefully replace the top part of the boiled egg. Replace the top of the egg.
- Decorate the exposed egg yolk mixture with sliced black olives for the eyes, and pieces of carrot for the nose.
Use a Cake Decorator to Fill the Whites
I used a cake decorator to fill the bottom half of the boiled egg with the yolk mixture. Using a star-shaped tip, I pushed the mixture through into the egg white. This gives the chicks a look of having feathers.
I like pickle relish in deviled eggs, but this will plug up the cake decorator tip, so I omit the pickle relish.

Use an Empty Egg Carton to Store Deviled Eggs
Save the empty egg carton to store and carry the deviled eggs. You can buy nice egg trays, but I don't have one. I should hint to my family to give me one for my birthday or Christmas. The egg carton serves as a covered carrier, and it makes it easy to store the finished eggs in the refrigerator.
As you can see by my photos, I made this batch of deviled eggs that look like baby chicks at Eastertime. Now my family expects them at all our family dinners! So, don't make these only at Easter, but anytime for your dinners.
Everyone will love your little baby chicks!
