For some reason, I have been cooking and baking a lot more than normal. I am going through my mother's recipes and trying them out again. I love going through her recipes because, as I do, I can remember my mother baking them when I was little. It brings back good memories. It is a lot more fun when my mother and I do it together.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 4 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Bring to a boil sugar, butter, and milk. It should take 5 minutes. Take off the stove.
  2. Pour in peanut butter, vanilla, and oatmeal.
  3. Spread in an 8 x 11 pan. Let it solidify, then cut.
