I consider myself a foodie. I am very open-minded, and I never order anything on a menu that I can easily make at home.
A Charming Brunch Spot
There are countless great restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina, and one of them is Snooze, an A.M. Eatery. My husband and I were given the recommendation to eat there by a friend, and it did not disappoint! The following are reasons why I would recommend this charming brunch spot.
1. The Employees
I can only speak for the employees at the 1331-A Central Avenue location in Charlotte at this time. I hope that the other locations reflect the same service and atmosphere as the one I have experienced. I found all of the employees to be genuinely friendly. They are very accommodating and willing to help you in any way they can.
The one thing I really appreciated was how our server handled food allergies. When my husband and I were ready to order, our server immediately asked if we had any food allergies that he should know about. I mentioned that I cannot eat chile and chipotle peppers, and he helped me feel confident in my food selection. Not only that, but he made sure that there was absolutely no seasoning of that kind on my food. He even repeated my order back to me when placing it on the table, reassuring me that it had no chile or chipotle peppers in any way. It is important to note that not all of their servers may do this. I do hope servers at all restaurants learn from this young man as having a food allergy makes eating out very worrisome.
Another accommodation I noticed is that if you want something taken out or added to your meal, they will do it without question. Our server said they actually embrace doing this!
2. The Bar
Snooze's drink menu holds a variety of brunch beverages that can make anyone smile with excitement. You must know though, that some of the beverages can be large. I am not big on drinking alcoholic beverages, so my eyes got very big when the tall glass was placed before me. Whether you get an Irish coffee or a cocktail, the presentation is always picture-perfect.
I like to keep things simple when it comes to drinks in the morning; therefore, I have only tried the Palomimosa and the MM MM Mimosa. I enjoyed both of these drinks, but I wouldn't say it ranks higher than other palomas and mimosas out there. It tastes like any ordinary paloma and mimosa would.
3. The Food
The presentation and creativity behind the food at Snooze is outstanding. Not only does this restaurant produce high-quality dishes, but they also are at a reasonable price. Their menu has great options, but it isn't overwhelming as some restaurants' menus are. Each part of the menu, whether it's eggs benedict or pancakes, makes you excited at the thought of trying all of them.
The most unique part of the menu is their pancake flights. By choosing this dish, you get your choice of three different pancakes. These pancake options are on the menu seasonally from my understanding. In November, there was an option for Reese's Cup pancakes, but recently I noticed it wasn't an option anymore. With the holidays coming up, there were pancake options like pumpkin pecan, blueberry danish, and pineapple upside-down. This was a great disappointment to me as the options in November were more enticing to me. I look forward to the day they change up their pancake options again to something that better fits my taste buds.
Between me and my husband, we have ordered the following from Snooze:
- Breakfast Pot Pie
- Shrimp and Grits
- Bella! Bella! Benny
- OMG! French Toast
- Smashed Avocado Benny
The five items you see above are ranked from the ones that my husband and I enjoyed the most to the least. This doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy the dishes like the OMG! French Toast and the Smashed Avocado Benny. I just enjoyed the other ones more. These are just two people's opinions, though. Everyone's taste buds are different.
4. The Atmosphere
From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left, I noticed the variety of catchy songs Snooze had playing throughout its restaurant. I was excited to find out from their website that anyone can access their Spotify playlist.
The restaurant also takes a lot of pride in what they do within the restaurant for its customers and outside of the restaurant with its community.
"We donate 1% of our sales back to our communities while composting and recycling nearly 90% of our waste. Plus, our ingredients are responsibly sourced from partners who share our passion for a better tomorrow—so you can start your day knowing you’re responsible for making the world a bit brighter."
Everything from the upbeat staff to the creative brunch cocktails to the delicious presentation of the food, and to their beliefs contribute to Snooze's delightful atmosphere. What's not to love about this breakfast and brunch spot?
