Like many restaurants, McDonald's secret menu definitely does exist. While there's no actual mention of these items, nor are they actually hidden secrets, they are simply customized meals that customers have requested in the past that have become a hit. Many times, employees may not know exactly what item you are talking about. Before you make the trip for one of these items, be sure you know exactly which ingredients come on them- just in case the employee has never been made aware of that menu item. Please remember that these are not items that McDonald's came up with and released, so it is not "standard procedure" for employees to be trained on what ingredients are included in these customer created items. If you find any of these menu items particularly delicious, definitely come back and leave a comment with your review- just so we know how it tastes! McDonald's hidden menu definitely has SOMETHING to stir up an appetite...

The Apple (Or Cherry) Pie McFlurry

While these tend to be some of the most delicious pies that McDonald's sells, you can most definitely order a different type of pie this way as well. The pies can be blended into a McFlurry cup with ice cream, and enjoyed like no other desert has been enjoyed before! I have tried this myself, and it's actually pretty good. However, it can be pretty hard to find a location that will whip up this item for you. Many will turn you down, but if you can find one, it is absolutely delicious! If all else fails, you can always order the apple pie and an ice cream cone. Get a McFlurry cup and spoon, then mix them up by hand! Crumbling the pie can get a bit messy but I promise it's worth it. Cherry pie is usually a seasonal item, so this will be a rare treat available only during the winter.

Who knew the McDouble would translate into the poor man's big mac on the McDonald's Hidden Menu?

The Poor Man's Big Mac

If you're like most other customers, you are probably a fan of the Big Mac. Now, don't get me wrong- the Big Mac is absolutely delicious. However, the McDonald's hidden menu has an alternative that will save you a bit of money. This item is also going to be a bit lower in calories, avoiding the shocking numbers that the Big Mac has. We call this sandwich the poor man's big mac. By ordering a McDouble, you can transform it into a mini big mac. First, you will need to request that they prepare the burger without ketchup or mustard. Afterwards, you add Mac Sauce, Lettuce, and extra onions. Viola! You have a delicious mini mac without all of the extra calories or price.

The McGangBang

Of all of the McDonald's secret menu items, the McGangBang has the funniest name perhaps. The first time I'd ever heard it, I simply died laughing. Basically, the McGangBang is a very simple menu item. You request a double cheeseburger, and have a second bun placed between the two pieces of beef. Inside of this bun rests a McChicken patty. Sounds simple enough, right? This comes close to a heart attack in a sack, but it has apparently gained significant popularity. For me, I do like both of the sandwiches; however, I prefer to keep them separate. I wouldn't mind trying a bite of it just to say I've tried the McGangBang, but I definitely would not be able to eat a burger of that size. I'm fairly sure my arteries would clog before I made halfway through the sandwich.

Could you imagine swapping out this sausage patty for a piece of chicken to create the delicious chicken mcgriddle?

The Chicken McGriddle

Everyone loves a McGriddle; and let's be honest, the Southern Style Chicken is to DIE for. One of the classic southern dishes, chicken & waffles, is now 100% possible with McDonald's. Since this fast food chain has a Southern Style Chicken biscuit along with their delicious McGriddle line, it is easy to swap out a few ingredients. All you have to do is order a sausage McGriddle. Tell them to substitute the sausage with a southern style chicken patty, and viola! You have an irresistible, mouthwatering chicken McGriddle. Of all of the secret menu items that I have listed here, I highly recommend trying this little gem. I couldn't get my hands on a photo of one just yet, so this one to the right will have to suffice UNTIL I order my next chicken McGriddle.

Additional McDonald's Tips, Tricks, and HACKS!

In addition to these secret menu items, I would also like to let you know that there are a few tips and tricks to being a customer at McDonald's. Here are some important pointers that you might find handy:

  • Sauces: Believe it or not, there are a LOT of different sauces available to you. These include: Barbeque, Ranch, Sweet & Sour, Chipotle BBQ, Buffalo, Honey Mustard, and more. You can even request Big Mac Sauce and breakfast sauce!
  • A La Carte: You can buy items individually! You can buy almost anything individually. No matter how odd the request may be, you could order buns, beef patties, chicken patties, eggs, and more by themselves. You could even order a bagel without anything on it. The A La Carte menu makes this possible.
  • Specials and Coupons: You can always ask the crew member that is taking your order about ongoing specials, deals, and 2 for $X prices. This can help you to save a great deal of money, especially since there are ALWAYS great, active deals available to the customers without a coupon necessary.

How About A McDonald's Prank Afterwards?

Okay, so yes this is cruel to the guy who is operating the grill. However, I found this video rather entertaining. I myself would never spend $117 on NUGGETS, there's just no way. It may not be a McDonald's secret menu item, but it's still kind of funny. I never thought all of the nuggets would cook so fast either.

@ sagasphere LOL I worked there for a bit, and was actually asked for one of the McGangBangs. I was also proud of the fact that I prepared food the way people would appreciate it to be! So I wore gloves every time lol. I, of course, switched jobs VERY quickly. It was something to hold over bills until a better job was found (while pulling out of freelance writing since work dried up).

@suzanne day, yes!!! It's a heart attack waiting to happen! lol. Most items like this are almost ALWAYS thought up by customers... So, I'd say it was a stoner's creation??? lol

"Are you putting this on YouTube?"....

Then proceeds to still not wear gloves when preparing the Mc nuggets.

I did not know about all this, very interesting; and sounds tasty. I did know someone who used to order a vegetarian Whopper at Burger King. Burger King used to be known for making your order the way you wanted it.

I am familiar with the McGangBang but not the others. Apple Pie Mcflurry sounds interesting, though. Nice hub!
