Roseanne's Loose Meat Sandwich

One day while watching Roseanne, I became instantly curious about her famous loose meat sandwich and what it tasted like. I hopped on the computer and searched to see if there was a recipe already out there—but I didn't find one quite like how it seemed to be made on the show.

So I came up with my own recipe, and I'd love to share it with you! In fact, this is one of my best recipes, and I'm positive you'll enjoy it.

Here you can learn exactly how to make those delicious sandwiches. They are oh-so-delicious and easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 large sweet onion, chopped very fine
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 buns
  • 4 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. In a pan, saute the chopped onion until translucent.
  2. Add the hamburger meat to the pan and combine with the onions.
  3. Drain the grease when browned.
  4. Add the chicken broth, salt, and pepper to the pan. Cook on medium heat until all of the chicken broth is absorbed into the meat.
  5. Steam the buns: If you have a bun warmer, it's pretty straightforward. If not, make a quick bun steamer by placing a colander over a pot of boiling water and then covering it with tin foil.
  6. Construct your sandwiches by adding a large spoonful of beef mixture to the bottom of each bun.
  7. Cover with a slice of American cheese.
  8. Add your top bun half to your sandwich.
  9. Serve with mustard and sliced pickles on the side. Enjoy!
