Crispy Restaurant-Style Chicken Nuggets With Dipping Sauce

These chicken nuggets are crispy, super delicious, and easy to make. They're great for a quick and easy dinner that the whole family will love!


For the Nuggets:

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika (preferably smoked paprika)
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Oil for frying

For the Egg Wash

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

(Note: You can replace the water and cream with 3/4 cup milk.)

For the Dipping Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 3 TBSP barbecue sauce
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika (preferably smoked paprika)

Step 1: Make the Nuggets

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, bread crumbs, sugar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper and set aside.
  2. Take the chicken breasts and slice them in half, then cut into 1-inch pieces and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, water, and cream.
  4. Take the pieces of chicken and dip them in the egg wash, then dip in the flour mixture; shake off any excess flour. Fry the nuggets a few a time, in oil, on medium heat, until golden brown. Place on paper towels to drain.
  5. Serve with dipping sauce and enjoy!

Step 2: Make the Dipping Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, mix the mayo, mustard, barbecue sauce, honey, garlic powder, and paprika until fully combined.
  2. Serve with warm nuggets and enjoy.

Yield: Makes about 20 nuggets.
