Woman’s Simple Yet Perfect Cake Recipe From the 1930s Is Going Viral

We don’t know about you, but we enjoy everything antique and authentic. There’s a charm to things from the past that usually can’t be duplicated today. However, there are exceptions. If you’re a person who inherited recipes, you can taste a bit of the past any time you want. However, you might find ingredients in the recipes that have faded out of style. But perhaps your ancestors had the right idea after all.

A recent TikTok video by content creator @pasttimecook pulls out her recipes from the 1930s to 1950s. She decides to make a white cake since the recipe says it’s cheap to whip up. She saw a connection with the economic struggles people are encountering today. It’s a simple yet exciting recipe, and it actually comes with two surprising ingredients!

Now, we’re ready for some cake! It turned out nice and bright. We think the tip for adding some lemon is genius. This recipe is making TikTok users feel nostalgic. User @Cassandra Mayorga said, “Loved the way it turned out!” @Scottishfoldstella replied, “This kind of reminds me of my Nana’s pound cake. She uses Crisco and adds lemon instead, but it’s my favorite!” @Ozny77 exclaimed, “Love this! Thank you for sharing.” @Sofia asked, “Can you post this recipe, please? I’d love to share this with my students! I am a Family and Consumer Science teacher.”

We’re glad that @pasttimecook’s recipe brings out the best in her viewers. Hopefully, @Sofia’s students will enjoy this recipe as much as we did. If you’re a fan of treasured recipes, check out this next video.
