Apparently We've Been Making 'French Toast' Wrong Our Entire Lives

What is your go-to carb when you’re making breakfast on the weekends? Do you like toast or bagels? Or are you a pancake and waffles type of person? All are reasonable options, but we like to make French Toast

In a recent TikTok video, content creator @sheenamarie3568 shared her trick for making French Toast. We can’t believe no one else told us about it. Well, this was a huge wake-up call.

As you can see in the video, the French Toast she was making had a crisp look to it. Someone told her to toast her bread before placing it into the egg mixture. We’re shocked that this isn’t normal. It will change the way people make French Toast because it’s a useful tip. Toasting the bread will help prevent the sogginess that sometimes occurs in French Toast.

We’re definitely going to test out this French Toast tip. But how do the TikTok viewers feel about it? Let’s find out. User @Elia3051 revealed, “I am French, and we don’t toast the bread before making French Toast in France, at least.” @Alexandria Cox wrote, “I use brioche bread for French toast, and it turns out delicious.” @M davis wrote, “I have never heard or seen that in my life.” @shotgundoug13 replied, “I leave mine out overnight on the counter.” @user6802417467525 said, “THAT’S WHY THEY'RE ALWAYS SO SOGGY!”

Yes, the downside to making French Toast is the sogginess. But this neat trick will prevent it from happening. If you liked the video and want more content, visit @sheenamarie3568’s TikTok channel. You’ll be happy you did. For more Delishably updates, be sure to follow us on Google News!
