Restaurant in Japan's Odd Payment Method Has Us Intrigued

By now, you should know we’re fascinated by other countries. They seem to do many food-related things better than here in the states. One of our favorite foreign countries is Japan. You'll love today's post if you’re a fan of their food.

In a TikTok video, content creator @japanontiktok shared footage of a Japanese restaurant in Osaka, Japan. They’re known for not accepting money as payment for their menu items. The currency they use is creative. If only more restaurants accepted those as payment.

Can you believe the restaurant only accepts rubber ducks as payment? This would be a great idea to mimic here in the states. Many of us grew up with rubber ducks in the bathroom. So, we’re certain an idea like this would catch on fast. Plus, we like the décor of the restaurant. It’s neat that they’ve adopted the bathhouse look. While it does look cramped inside the restaurant, you can rest assured it’s clean. Japan is known for its high standards of cleanliness.

We really liked watching the video. But how did the TikTok viewers react to it? Let’s find out now. User @Coño said, “So, they take money but indirectly, I knew there’s a twist.” @Plushpuppy remarked, “If I bring my owns ducks, then I'm good.” @Yoshianees replied, “It’s the same concept as giving them money. SMH.” @Chaedimoonshadow exclaimed, “This is so quacking awesome!” @Green shaman wrote, “This is so ducking cute!” @Mitsuni_Sukii

We’re glad that some people are excited about the bathhouse restaurant. If you visit the restaurant while in Osaka, please let us know. It really looks like a fun place to eat. To stay updated on all things Japan, visit @japanontiktok’s TikTok channel. You’ll be glad you did.
