4 Great Syn-Free Slimming World Salmon Recipes
Seafood and the Syn-Free Diet
Sometimes on the Slimming World diet, food can get a little repetitive; you get stuck in the habit of cooking the same few dishes all the time because you know you like them. They are easy to make and low in syns. At least I know this was true for us. But really there is only so many times you can eat chilli, jacket potatoes, slimming world chips, pulled pork, or eggs cooked in a multitude of ways, sometimes you just need something a little bit different.
After I wrote my article on 5 Great Syn-Free Slimming World Chicken Recipes, I was asked to write a similar one for seafood! Now personally, I am not a huge fish eater when I am at home, as hubby doesn't eat it at all, so I rarely cook it just for myself, but I will occasionally cook salmon. With that in mind, I have been searching online (for quite a long time actually) to find four great syn-free slimming world recipes that use salmon.
Well, I managed to find what I think are four great, tasty, healthy recipes that are all quite different from each other. If you fancy making one of them, then use the link provided to see the full recipe and enjoy!
Hopefully having a bit of variety and some tasty new recipes will help you keep on plan and on track to reaching your target weight. If there is another ingredient you would like me to write about please leave a comment below and let me know. Or if you have another great salmon recipe, please let me know about it!
1. Poached Salmon Kedgeree
I was surprised to actually find this recipe on The Mirror's online website. To be honest, it was the egg and the bright colours that first attracted me to it, but I think the look of food can often be really important in its appeal to us. This Kedgeree recipe is packed full of flavours with just the right kick of spice. You will also get in lots of free and super free veggies, and best of all this salmon recipe is totally syn free, meaning you can have a nice big portion and feel no guilt! I can imagine this one would be great for a summertime meal as its nice and fresh, or it would go down really well at a street party and family dinner party. Find this recipe here.
2. Spicy Hot Smoked Salmon Noodles
This recipe just looked so tasty, I am a big fan of Chinese or noodle dishes as I always find they are flavourful and filling, which is something you really need when you are on a diet as it helps keep you motivated—if your eating tasty filling food you're less likely to fall off the dieting wagon. This recipe was found on Good to Know, a brilliant site that should be bookmarked for all foodies or slimmers as it is a great resource of recipes. Again this is a dish simply bursting with veggies so getting in plenty of your super free and free foods, which helps hugely towards your weight loss. Find this recipe here.
3. Salmon and Wild Rice Salad
I love a good salad! But on Slimming World you can sometimes get so fed up of eating lettuce, so it is great to find a 'salad' recipe that is a bit different. That's why I jumped on this salmon and wild rice salad the minute I spotted it, it just looks so tasty, and perfect for the summer months when you don't fancy a heavy meal. Randomly I found this one on a site called Total Guide to Bath, yes the rest of the site is all about Bath the city, but there is also a section for recipes (which is kind of weird), but I'm not complaining after finding this great Slimming World salad recipe. So why not give it go. Find this recipe here.
4. Salmon and Asparagus Pasta
This recipe wasn't listed as a Slimming World recipe it is actually a Weight Watchers recipe. But it could just as easily be a Slimming World one, and still be free if you use the low-fat soft cheese as your Healthy Extra An option, or if you didn't want to do that you could use fat-free yogurt or quark as a substitute, but it completely depends on your taste and if you want to use your HEA. The dish looks so fresh and yummy that I would happily eat this for a summertime lunch every day. So if you fancy it, you'll find the recipe on The Daily Mail website It's super easy to prepare, so great if you want a speedy lunch. Find this recipe here.
