How to Make Vegetarian Fried Wontons

Delightful Snacks
I like wontons for their taste and crunchiness. They are nutritious, as they have a tasty vegetable filling! These mild-spicy wontons pair well with a hot garlic sauce. If you don't like spiciness, you can eat them with tomato ketchup.
How to Make Vegetarian Fried Wontons
For making vegetarian fried wontons, you first have to make a dough. You will also have to make a veggie stuffing. Next, make small discs out of the dough. Place a teaspoon of stuffing in the center of the disc. Form wontons as per instructions.
Deep-fry about six wontons at a time in hot oil. Turn them often to ensure uniform cooking. Once they are fried golden brown, place them on an absorbent paper.
Serve hot wontons with a spicy garlic sauce. Enjoy eating! They are truly delightful.

Step-By-Step Instructions and Images for Making Veg Fried Wontons
- Begin the recipe by making the dough for the wrap.
- Put all purpose flour, corn flour, salt, and melted butter in a mixing bowl. Dry mix them. Next, knead them adding water little by little to get a smooth and firm dough.
- Cover the dough with a wet cloth or a vessel. Set aside.
- In the meanwhile, prepare the stuffing. Heat oil in a deep-bottomed pan.
- Add chopped onions, minced ginger, and minced garlic.
- Saute until onions turn golden brown. Throw in chopped veggies. Add some salt. Mix well.
- Increase the heat. Stir-cook them for a few minutes or until the veggies become soft, yet retain crunchiness.
- Add soy sauce, pepper powder, and remaining salt. Saute for a minute. Now, the stuffing is almost ready.
- Sprinkle a few drops of water on them. Add some all purpose flour. Stir the mixture well. Turn off the heat.
- Transfer the stuffing to a steel plate.
- Now, divide the dough into many small lemon-sized balls. Take one such ball. Make a thin dice with the help of a rolling pin.
- Place a teaspoon stuffing on the center. Fold the opposite edges. Press the edges covering the stuffing. Observe that a small stuffing pouch is formed.
- Pull the open ends and seal them by pressing with your fingers. Refer the pic for the right way of folding. Keep this wonton aside.
- Make 6-7 such wontons at a time. Drop them in a medium hot oil. Fry them, while turning occasionally to ensure uniform frying.
- Remove them once they are crispy and golden brown. Place them on an absorbent paper.
- Repeat the same for making all the wontons. Serve these yummy wontons hot with a spicy garlic sauce or tomato sauce for a less-spicy option.
- Enjoy the taste!
